Under 10 Juniors Season 2005-06 Reports
Ramsgate youth vs Kennington under 10's juniors A combination of the managers talk and the players having seen Arsenals terrific display on M.O.T.D in the morning seemed to inspire them to greater heights....and NO the writer is not a Gunners fan!!! Another great save by Hedington led to the move that King put away to make it 8. For a short while the ambers went off the boil and Ramsgate got two back! O'Driscoll then got his 4th to make it 9-2.Ramsgate started to battle and Bradley King was having a right "ding dong" with the Ramsgate captain, fortunately renewed pressure from Kennington allowed for King to make it 10.Ramsgate replied and then Fisher manouvered a sublime bring down to make the scoreline 11-3. Good training work from Simon Hall (manager)supplemented by extra coaching from Graham Jordan surely influenced this magnificent scoreline. Ramsgate youth U 10's vs Kennington juniors U 10's Kennington under 10's juniors vs Faversham Strike Force Kennington dominated the game with exquisite passing whilst using their brains to create openings.Joe Hedington seems to be growing in confidence and made a great save from Faversham at close range. There was good industry from all the ambers but special credit must go to O'Driscoll, who covered alot of ground for his team-mates and showed great commitment. Sunday 30th October 2005 The battle in the middle of the park was being won by Deal and after 20 mins wholesale changes were made by Kennington, with 3 subs being introduced at one time,as a result of this there appeared to be a glimmer of hope that the ambers were getting into the game as the half closed. As the second half commenced Deal literally scored straight away, but to Kenningtons credit this seemed to ignite the fight in them and 4 mins in Tom Hinkes scored a wonder goal from distance-game on! There was more shape, better passing, greater control and PASSION from the ambers which allowed for Timson to equalise with a header from a cheeky lay on from Fisher! 2-2. Sunday 23rd October 2005 Kennington continued to battle and Joe Fisher duly supplied a sublime equaliser (13 mins). What then followed was mis-judgement by the amber back line, which allowed the visitors a lob that rattled the cross bar. Kennington regained the edge as the half closed. In the second half, Canterbury kept their shape, which made it difficult for the ambers to penetrate,so although Kennington had the the bulk of possession they couldnt make it pay. Towards the end of the game the visitors could have wrapped up the match with 3-4 chances which were narrowly missed.Lack of ball control and poor passing contributed to an under par performance from the home team hence a 1-1 draw. Sunday 16th October 2005 From the off,Luke Belafonte latched onto a corner but just fired over the bar.The boys quickly found their form and the previous weeks game seemed a distant memory. Will Timson scored after 8 mins, shortly afterwards Declan O'Driscoll made a mazy run down the left wing beating a number of players to slot it away (11 mins). Kennington scored again as Bradley King layed on a lovely pass for Timsons second (15 mins). The whole teams performance was immaculate with good passing and moving and as a result O'Driscoll made it 4 after 19 mins.King was again involved in the fifth when he supplied Joe Fishers goal (21 mins). The second half the onslaught continued with Webster hitting the post and Timson hitting the bar! Seven minutes in Joe Fisher layed off a pass to Eddie Hall to break his duck 6-0.Timson then got his hat-trick to make it 7-0. As the game was very one sided our defenders switched positions with the lads up front, with Isaac Shephard taking up a centre forwards role- he subsequently had two sitters and confirmed why he is a defender! More woodwork featured with King and Belafonte both hitting posts. Goals from Webster and Hall made it 9 with Deal netting a consolation goal to make it 1-9. The best was then saved to last, when the unthinkable happened with Kenningtons very own "mighty atom" Isaac Shephard closing the game with the ambers tenth-that goal got the biggest cheer of the day. Steady defensive work from Bellafonte and Hinkes kept the opposition at bay, whilst the midfield battlers of Eddie Hall and Charlie Webster gave Kennington the lions share of possession. A momentary lapse in the 26th min, caused by indecision on Kenningtons part, aloowed for the homeside to pull one back. From that moment on until the end of the half there were ominous signs that borough were getting back into the game. The second half started with borough seeking the equaliser which duly came 2-2. To say it was tense for spectators would be an understatment-numerous shots were fired in by an assortment of Kennington players but to no avail, with them either going askew or their keeper saving. Eddie Hall remained at the heart of the battle as was Isaac Shephard who made a lunge that would have surely resulted in a further goal for A.B. Kennington started to get the edge again with Webster pulling the trigger a number of times.A corner from Hall gave Webster a header that was just over! Chances came thick and fast for the Ambers then with them dominating, the unthinkable happened, with A.B on the ropes they broke down the left side with their player cooly slotting it home passed our keeper ! 3-2 Although A.B did well to get back into the game I'm sure any neutral watching would say that Kennington were ROBBED!! 2 October 2005 The home team's continued neat inter-play allowed for Charlie Webster to run at the opposition from the centre of the park and strike a typical scorcher that that their keeper could'nt keep out. Rather than the visitors heads going down the scoreline seemed to give the visitors the impetus to raise their game and in the 18th minute they pulled one back-continued pressure by them then gave them the equaliser GAME ON! Bradley King battled well for Kennington and the beginning of the second half showed both sides committed to finding an opening. Eddie Hall agitated Whistable with his industry and a good move involving him resulted in Webster breaking the deadlock 3-2. A game played with a lovely spirit for football. The two teams did the East Kent Youth League proud. 25 September 2005 After a stirring half time team talk the boys came out with different heads and quickly added a second from the prolific Webster who broke down the left to plant it wide of the keeper. There was lovely wing play from Declan O'Driscoll who continually harrassed the Trinity defence. 12 minutes into the second half Joe Fisher added a third,he then went on to produce a breathtaking piece of individual skill beating 3 players to take the score to 4-0. Kenningtons natural athleticism started to really show when Will Timson made it 5 with 10 minutes to go. The closing minutes saw a Charlie Webster thunderbolt pushed onto the post and out, quickly followed by another piledriver that momentarily halted the game as the Trinity keeper was winded ! A satisfactory result which could have ended in double figures. 18 September 2005 The second half saw Kennington controlling the game with numerous shots at goal but they failed to capitalise on their possession. Sturry did well to hang on and get a point from a game that was a case of "one way traffic" - end - |
